The Yggdrasil, or World Tree is a sacred ash in Viking mythology. This representation has a hand shaped and finished purple heart base with a hand twisted brass wire tree. Approximately 10.5" tall, 10.5" wide, and 6" deep.

This wall hanging is modeled after the piece that won the sculpture division in the StorageTek 2002 art show. The frame is hand carved and finished oak. The tree is made of steel wire twisted by hand. 13" in diameter.

Yggdrasil 2

This Yggdrasil wall hanging was created as a wedding gift in 2003. The trianglar frame is purple heart hand carved with an eagle, squirrels, deer, and snakes intwined in an original design inspired by wooden panels at the church of Urnes in Norway. The central tree is hand twisted brass wire and the leaves are multicolored glass. Approximately 14" tall.

The eternity symbol base is hand-carved from Italian alabaster. The two steel wire trees have clusters of black and white glass beads. 6.5" tall.

Major Oak Wall Hanging

This hanging sculpture has a hand-carved oak leaf base, coordinating with the hand-dyed, dark green leather leaves fastened to the end of each steel wire branch. Inspired by Major Oak in Sherwood Forest, England. 18" wide by 14" tall. Hangs on two nails at 16".

This piece was created in 2002 and made to create the feel of a wind swept tree near the sea. The base is ceramic, with a burl wood "stone". The tree and branches are twisted steel wire. Approximately 12" tall.

Autumn Bonsai

This center piece was created on commission in 2003, and fashioned after a living bonsai tree. The pot is glazed ceramic filled with polished pebbles as one might find in a traditional bonsai pot. The trunk and branches are copper wire hand twisted and ended with glass leaves. Approximately 14" tall.

English Oak Bonsai

This center piece was created on commission in 2003, and fashioned after an English Oak. The pot is glazed ceramic filled with polished pebbles as one might find in a traditional bonsai pot. The trunk and branches are made of steel, twisted and wrapped to imitate the gnarled bark of an ancient oak. The leaves were painstakingly crafted from leather; each leaf was individually hand carved, cut, and stained before being mounted on the ends of the branches. Approximately 12" tall.

Frog of the Wood

This will be the last piece in walnut I will ever do (I'm allergic to the dust). I entered this hand-carved frog and mushroom into the 2004 Woodcraft Wildlife carving contest. Walnut with tung oil finish. 3" x 3" wide, and 4.5" high.

Tree Ornaments

This piece was one of six created in 2002 as Christmas ornaments. Wooden balls, stained or painted, formed the base of each tree. This particular ornament sports a steel trunk and branches, with the ribbon secured from a loop hidden in the branches. Approximately 3" tall.
